The York Chamber Ensemble is a non-profit charitable organization, with a mission of bringing community together through rehearsing and performing engaging new experiences that pushes the boundaries of conventional orchestral musical performances, while contributing to the enhancement of the performing arts in York Region and fostering an inclusive environment for the music education of community members of all ages.

The York Chamber Ensemble continues to work with local artists to provide thought-engaging programs that reflect and celebrate their beautiful diverse community. YCE has already featured many talented underserved members of their community and featured much music by underserved composers since its founding. 

YCE strives to do more. Projects in the works include collaborations with Indigenous Arts Organizations like 50/50 Performing Arts Collective and Sketch Working Arts (an arts enterprise that engages youth who live homeless or on the margins and navigate poverty to experience the transformative power of the arts).
