Mao Ke, ADV.Mus., B. Mus., ADP. Drama Ms. Mao is an accomplished mezzo-soprano with brilliant career in the concert, operatic, and theatre genres. She has graduated with Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, after earning her degree in vocal performance from the Xing Hai Conservatory of Music. In addition, Ms. Mao has earned a diploma in drama performance and has worked with many internationally acclaimed opera singers and directors such as Jean MacPhail, Lorne Richstone, Richard Margison, Laurent Philippe, Leon Major, Jorge Chamine, Tom Diamond, and others.
As a singer, Ms. Mao is the recipient of many national awards. She has recently performed with the Toronto Operetta Theatre (The Merry Widow, Candide) and in Royal Conservatory of Music productions (Le Nozze di Figaro, La Bella Dormente nel Bosco). She has given numerous solo recitals at the RCM Concert Hall in Toronto. As a vocal instructor Ms. Mao has a wonderful rapport with students of all ages, especially children. Her ability to connect with the students and her talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both truly superior. Under her instruction, her students achieved significant improvement on music skills and won numerous awards in singing competitions. Ms. Mao has extensive working knowledge in Italian, German, Spanish, French, and Russian languages. She is also fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Ms. Mao established MK Singing School since 2009. As a recognized professional, Ms. Mao is a registered teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music. She also is the member of The Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing.
