The Canadian Chamber Orchestra (CCO) is a dynamic, collaborative ensemble redefining the boundaries of chamber music through innovative programming, intercultural dialogue, and immersive concert experiences. Based in Toronto, the CCO brings together some of Canada’s most accomplished musicians, leaders from the Toronto Symphony, Canadian Opera Company, National Ballet Orchestra, and the Rolston, Thalea, and Dior string quartets. In the year since its first performance, the CCO was a featured artist at Music TORONTO’s COSE series, presented Shostakovichfest alongside OPUS Chamber Music. In 2025, they look forward to more collaborations with Xenia concerts, the Sarnia Concert Association, and Music TORONTO as well as recording their debut album at the Isabel Bader Centre in Kingston. . 

Founded in 2023 on the principles of inclusivity, creativity, and community connection, the CCO embraces a wide range of musical traditions and styles. Its repertoire spans classical masterworks by composers like Elgar and Shostakovich, contemporary Canadian voices such as Kevin Lau and Dinuk Wijeratne, and cinematic and reimagined popular music. By blending the familiar with the unexpected, the CCO makes chamber music both accessible and relevant, while showcasing Canada’s rich cultural diversity. Despite its young history, the CCO has already gained a reputation for delivering performances of exceptional artistic quality while forging deep personal connections with audiences.

Beyond its artistic mission, the CCO is committed to using music as a catalyst for social change. Its second LRLP, November 2024’s ‘Movie Night’, employed an alternative ticketing model that encouraged attendees to donate food instead of purchasing tickets. This initiative, funded by a grant from the Toronto Arts Council, resulted in over 100 pounds of food donations for the Eglinton Saint George Food Bank, reinforcing the ensemble’s belief in the transformative power of music to bridge divides and uplift communities.
