Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance at University of Toronto, Jennifer Yu’s principal teachers include Lynda Metelsky (piano) at Royal Conservatory of Toronto, Germaine Mounier (piano) at École Normale de Musique de Paris in France, Marietta Orlov (piano) at University of Toronto, Serge Blanc (chamber music) at ENMP, and Cameron Stowe (collaborative piano) at UofT. Jennifer is co-owner of Suono Music Studio in Richmond Hill and a member of Gordon’s Institute of Music Learning and Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association. She taught musicianship class for beginners at the Children’s Piano Pedagogy Program and undergraduate piano pedagogy course at Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, till 2016. From January, 2018 to this day, Jennifer Yu began teaching online courses in comprehensive musicianship and composition with Roberto Maddalena at Muses Academy, China. Her other ongoing pedagogic ventures include collaboration with Centro Studi Musicali “G. Verdi” in creating musical and cultural exchange program, “Campus Internazionale Italia – Canada – Cina” in Corigliano Rossano, southern Italy, during the summers of 2018 and 2019. Widely praised recitalist of solo and collaborative piano in Austria, Canada, France, Italy, Portugal, Taiwan, and USA, Jennifer Yu’s pedagogic activities include masterclasses in Canada, Italy, and Portugal, as well as competition adjudications in Italy and Canada. Her 2019 piano performances and intercontinental teaching activities will take her around Canada and Italy.
